REAL SIMPLE: George Jonas explains what ought to be obvious:
I’ve stumbled upon the secret of the countries Israel has never bombed or invaded. Different as they may be from one another, they have one thing in common. These countries have never bombed or invaded Israel…No matter how much you detest Israelites in particular, or Jews in general, as long as you can content yourself with calling on God’s wrath to rain down on the Jewish State, and refrain from reinforcing your prayer by supplying missiles to Hezbollah, you can exercise your religious freedom of loathing with no other consequence than perhaps being loathed in return.
It’s so simple. Hell, we haven’t been able to play that nice during any of the last six decades (counting from the current one). But Israel’s record is perfect.
Only problem is that he’s wrong. Israel bombed that reactor in Iraq long before Iraq ever fired any missiles at Israel. And Iraqi troops were never involved in any of the ground wars.
I’m not saying I think Israel was wrong to bomb that reactor. I’m saying that the observation is not correct.
D’oh. Yep, I forgot that one too. On the other hand, even ONE time is a better record than we have.
Wish we could do the same to the Iranians. We’re going to pay for not dealing with them before they get nukes.
Edit: However, wasn’t this simulataneous with Saddam hiring the American, Robert Bull, to design a super-cannon that could fire all the way to Isreal? After Mossad assassinated him, the project was never completed, and we dismantled it after the first Gulf war. Offhand, I think somone building a cannon pointed at your house at the same time they’re building a nuclear breeder reactor is enough to earn a technical pass.
