Metro has been running notices on their flashing traffic signs to keep people advised of the fire danger due to the drought. Mainly they’ve said “BURN BAN IN EFFECT.” Last night, I saw a new message had been put on them:
ARSON / BURN BAN IN EFFECT
You know they’re serious when they ban arson . . .
Updates appearing below the fold as the whim takes me….
Update 1-16-06: Apparently appeared in Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area also.
Under its State headline (in the right center column) KHOU says that support for DeLay is waivering. . .
But will the Texans claim it off the wire? They could use a little support.
The Chronicle is even funnier
Troubles erode support for DeLay in 22nd District—Most notably, the congressman’s support is weakening among Republicans in the 22nd Congressional District who have voted for him before, according to a Houston Chronicle poll.

That’s just amazing! Yes, the Chronicle is telling us that it’s most notable that support is decreasing among his supporters! I guess it just wouldn’t be news — or at least not most notable news, if support were decrease among people who voted for someone else.
Then again, this is the Chronicle we’re talking about; the same newspaper that breathlessly informs us that connected people in Washington are, well, connected.
Update 1-16-06: Kevin at BlogHouston takes aim at the oddity of the questions, and possible methodology errors, while Evan posts a more detailed look at the data.

Perhaps Delay no longer has any _burning_ support? Burned his bridges. Jeff or Lloyd? Or Lloyd Benson highway bridges?
That was odd, and I’m zonked.
