Let me say that if you’re looking for visceral pictures of devastation, you’re going to be disappointed. Our area got off pretty light. This is just what I observed immediately before, during, and right after the storm. Also note that the pictures taken right after the storm are strangely distorted. This is because I was taking them from inside my car, through the window, and it was raining, so the water on the glass makes for odd warping.

Before the storm: bracing the garage door. A few neighbors lost theirs; we didn’t.

The storm arrives; Friday afternoon. I forget the time… Sorry, that’s from Saturday morning, part of the backside.

No pictures from during the hurricane other than that. Not like I was going to go outside, even during the eye (which passed by at 4-5 a.m., taking an hour+). Next morning: Minor tree damage.

Not-so-minor tree damage. This is the unluckiest guy in the neighborhood. (No idea of injuries, if any, or if he evac’d.)

Some siding damage. This was pretty much the extent in our area; we got off pretty much unscathed, especially in comparison to the barrier islands.

And now, I’m going to enjoy a hot bath. Ciao.
